As September approaches and the weather cools I'm feeling sad for a few reasons. I won't be going back to school, which is good because I don't like the stress of exams, papers and finals but seeing all the little NYU freshman on campus with their Class of 2012 shirts on makes me nostalgic. I feel like if I'm not in school learning, reading and writing I'm going to dumb down or something. That's why I'm trying to push myself to read more books although I only read two this summer. I couldn't get into the third, which was about the American Revolution haha.

Tomorrow is my last day at AOL. I have to leave because they can't keep graduates in an intern position past the summer. AOL's budget has got cut back so much we no longer have p cards, which are our company credit cards we use to charge stuff for our shoots. Plus the other Women's Living intern in the Style section is going to have to work for *free* I think I'm getting out at the perfect time. Yesterday my boss bought me cupcakes from CRUMBS. I had a red velvet one and took a vanilla with vanilla frosting and rainbow sprinkles home. I think the cupcakes from Crumbs are way better than Magnolia's. I'll never get a Magnolia's cupcake again. Bullshit rip off. Plus the fact that they were once infested with vermin grosses me out.

Well now that I have time off and the summer is basically over I'll need to entertain myself somehow before I get a real job. I'm sick of journalism at this point. This whole industry is getting downsized and print is being squeezed online. I went on three job interviews and got offered shitty starting salary. I mean I don't expect to be making $50,000 a year out of college but you can't expect a person to live off of $25,000 a year when they have $18,000+ in loans to pay off. The higher education system in this country sucks. I'm smart enough to graduate from NYU on a partial scholarship but I can't find a normal job that I like. I don't even know what I want to do anymore.. This industry is dragging me down. I wish I liked math and was good with numbers. I would be an accountant or something that allows me to excel at my own pace without relying on other people and/or having them breathe down your neck (i.e. sources/editors/ceo's).

I'll be going to a few shows in Sept and October although I vowed I was done with the scene. I really am done with the scene though and am only going to shows of bands that I really like. I'm going to see Hanson in NYC and Poughkeepsie and Kevin Devine at the Bowery Ballroom and possibly New Found Glory at Starland. I don't care I've liked them since I was 16, their new cover CD is good too.

Last weekend was one of the most exciting for me this summer. I went to the Duchess County Fair in Rhineback with Candice and her family. It was a culture shock for me because not only was there farm animals and hay all over the place but for the most part the people were nice. Then I went to some parties in Brooklyn. The first was a rooftop party in Bushwick, right down the block from a White Castle mmm. The next night was Sebastian's party in Ft. Greene.

I pretty much am addicted to iced lattes. I have to have one every day at work. I've tried to ween myself off of any drink with excessive amounts of sugar and/or milk for the summer but luckily lattes do not contain sugar. I could never give up coffee. I'd be dead

I went to Coney Island last weekend.. it was fun but it's so sad how generic Coney Island will be. It's bad enough the rides are extremely overpriced but once they renovate it, nothing will ever be the same. I love Coney Island, I don't care if it's dirty, it's supposed to be. No one expects it to look like Disney.

Anyway James Franco has officially replaced Jake Gyllenhaal as my unattainable male celebrity crush. Jake has fallen off for me ever since he started dating that soccer mom Reese.

My boyfriend came back from Virginia yesterday and told me some stories I wish I never heard about the people who live in Richmond. Makes me happy to have grown up in New York City. What also makes me happy to be a New Yorker is the fact that I hold a certain view of women that is neither nothing new for the modern world, nor is it particularly far-fetched. I am getting blasted in the Hanson community for criticizing Natalie and Taylor's decision to have a fourth child. Hanson fans scare me. Still after 10 years they haven't grown up and stepped off their 'Hanson is holier than thou' pedestal. It's ok to criticize them, Walker and Ashley Greyson are not going to come down from the sky and banish you from the shows. What's even worse about the Hanson fans is that they are jumping on the Jonas Brothers wagon. This reeks of pedophilia. Gross.

I'm going to the Duchess County Fair on Thursday in Poughkeepsie with Candice. I can't wait to see some good ol' country bumpkin stuff.

"To hit the jackpot in the future you might have to bet on where you are in the present."

I love rainy days and watching my Sex and the City DVD's. Season four and five are my favorites.

I love how August has been- mid 70's and breezy. It's such a relief from the hot and sticky July heat. I hate that during the entire week it's sunny and during the weekend when I want to go to the beach it's raining. I could use a relaxing day anyway

Last night I went to this bar on First Avenue for Julianna's birthday party. I was a little nervous to go at first because I didn't know anyone else but her so I dragged Tom. We ended up having a good time. I forgot how much fun East Village bars are, even if they're pack as hell by 11 pm.

Last night we ordered a bottle of Tequila. I never had Tequila shots before and I know why I avoided it for this long-- it's so disgusting. So instead of taking shots I mixed it with pineapple juice. yum.

There's nothing better in life than finding $90 sandals you want on sale for $45. I admit that I have a compulsive shoe shopping addiction but I only make purchases when they are well thought out and when the shoes are on sale. I can't wait for them to come in.. they're so cute but of course the summer is over now

I'm planning on going on a cruise to the Caribbean soon. I'm so excited. I always wanted to go on a cruise but was skeptical because I get sea sick so fast, ew.

I need to do something new with my hair I hate my bangs. Anyway I'm going to watch the rest of this episode now and probably paint my nails because they're chipping already.

I need to hunt you down James Franco. Sooooo fine.

My new goal is to become a Disney Channel star. They are seriously all over the place like weeds. I figure since it doesn't require much singing or acting talent I'm a shoe in. I still look like a teenager too.

Nicole and I ventured out to Nassau Coliseum this weekend for Warped Tour after a seven year veteran run of said tour. And boy did we feel old at this show. Not only did we not know most of the bands but we were older than half of the bands we interviewed.

The day started off with Cheeseburger Happy Meals and Apple Pies from McDonalds and ended with burritos from Chipotle, classy. We made a few new friends in bands like Between the Trees, Forever the Sickest Kids, TAI, Against Me!, Say Anything, etc.

Not a complete waste. It was f**king ecstasy, in fact! (Our motto of the day, taken from a Say Anything song.) Facebook sucks and makes photos shitty and small.

I really like that Miley Cyrus song. I know I’m like seven months late with it but seriously I never listen to the radio. I don’t know half of the shit that’s played on there anymore haaha.

Today I had to run around the Village getting groceries for my boss for this quiz we’re doing comparing 100- calorie portion sizes. Actually I just went to Gristedes but still it was hot as hell out so I wanted to die carrying three bags of groceries. Working at AOL has made me so calorie and ingredient conscious I hate it. I used to just be happy and eat whatever the hell I wanted. I did not need to be knowingly aware of the fact that five Starbursts equal 100 calories! Ugh. Anyway I ate 3 today after the photo shoot when my boss gave us all the food that I had bought. She’s trying to make me a fattie. I seriously cant get away from food at work there’s always cupcakes from a birthday party, food from a photo shoot or leftover sandwiches, snacks and cookies from a meeting.

Tomorrow I’m going to a summer sale for sunglasses at some random store in Greenwich Village. I really want Ray Bans or Marc Jacobs aviators but will not shell out $300 for them. Sitting at the computer all day at work just makes me want more materialistic things like shoes and clothes because I always have some fashion website open on the side while I’m doing work. I absolutely can not sit there for 8 hours doing actual work, I don’t think anyone can without going insane. Today it was so cold in the office that I made a trip over to the coffee machine thing we have. I’ve successfully avoided it for two months but today I was freezing my bones off and had to, had to, have a Vanilla Latte. Haha I felt gross after I drank it thinking about how many calories are in it.

Lately I’ve been obsessing over these girls for their style that I of course want to emulate but can not afford the real stuff so I'll have to ghettoize it.

Rachel Bilson: I'm not a fan of her or her acting, in fact I think she's a terrible actress right up there with Jessica Alba. But she is so cute and dresses so cute and is always wearing those big bulky scarves even though she's in LA. I like her hair it looks like she puts no effort into it and it still manages to look good.

Melanie Huynh: I love how she can take one piece and wear it in a few different ways. So cute. I love the black, leather, tights and booties theme.

Nikki Hilton: Who the hell knew there was another Hilton sister? And this one is classier and dresses really amazing and simple.

Mary Kate: Of course, I've loved her for years now so I don't have to explain this one. Love her shoes, always. Love her clothes, most of the time. Love her messy hair, when it's not platinum/gross blonde.

Nicole would've been on this list but girl fell off post-pregnancy. Please come back to you circa 2005-2007. haha.

Sorry if this post was long on your friends list. I didn't feel like making a cut.

Why are fanny packs making a comeback? Seriously guys, some things from the 80's need to stay in the 80's.

I've been drinking sooo much water and I'm still thirsty. I feel like a walking cactus. This weekend was disgusting, rainy and humid and today guess what it's cloudy and humid.

I can't wait to go see the Dali exhibit at MoMA. Seriously my favorite artist besides Warhol

Last night I went to Crue Fest at Jones Beach with my mom and her friend. OMG I had so much fun. I love hair metal and I don't even careeeeeeee.

We had pretty good seats we sat with like all the crew and roadies from the opening bands. The singer from Papa Roach was hanging out in our section. He's actually not bad looking in person and isn't fat/gross etc. like I imagined he would be. My mom teenied out when Buckcherry came out. I think the singer Josh is so gross but she's like in love with him it's kinda funny.

Motley Crue was great of course but Vince was half-ass singing the lyrics. I can't look at Nikki the same way ever since he started dating that fat-ass Kat Von D ew, sellout.

I got trampled on five minutes after this photo was taken lol

Oh, Gizmo got his haircut yesterday. His feet look like little teddy bear feet. I don't like them but I love when he gets groomed he's so fluffy.

There's nothing better than waking up after a full 8-hour sleep. I didn't wake up once last night, which is peculiar because every night for the past two weeks I've been up all night long.

I really want to see Kung Fu Panda and Wanted. I'd spend the whole day in the movie theater eating salty popcorn if I could.

I have no solid plans for tomorrow and it's kind of annoying. I hate not knowing what I'm doing. I assume it'll be fun regardless. I want this dress from American Apparel but I don't want to spend $36 on it.

I'm starving right now and researching bad side dishes for work. It makes me so hungry.

I want a bento box that looks like this haha. Actually I wish all food looked this cute.

I guess I decided to return to Live Journal because I get bored at work. I forgot how annoying it was to pick a username and how to fix my profile. I'll get back into it soon.

I cant believe I graduated. It's bittersweet because I'm happy to be done with school but at the same time I know I'm going to miss NYU and my professors and friends. I'll never stop wanting to learn and I'll never stop reading even if I'm not forced to for class.

My cousins from Arizona are staying with us until next week. My cousins from Italy and California also came to visit this week. My house is like a zoo.

My summer is ok so far. I've been working everyday and saving money but also spending it on shoes. I just bought a cute pair of knee high Minnetonka's in Brown

I can't wait to wear them. I don't care if it's like 90 degrees out.. I also really want this YSL Star necklace. It's sooo cute

New York City has been so hot this month, I really hate the summer, its so hot and humid and forget about walking to and from the train without dying of heat stroke.  I wish we had more of fall and spring ugh.

I've been writing a lot more for AOL.com:

This story I did about bad ice cream got 15 million hits! I got to take it home afterwards too. haha Right now I'm doing research for an article about divorce.

I can't wait to go see Wanted.

I don't care I'm obsessed with Angelina Jolie, no sorry I'm actually in love with her. I can't wait for her to pop out her twins haha. She's the one person I really haveeeeee to meet one day.  haha

Yesterday my boss surprised us with CRUMBS Cupcakes. I LOVE IT. I usually only like vanilla cupcakes but for some reason I took a chocolate one. sooo good.

I'm sure I'll be updating this all the time now. Tuesday I'm going to see Motley Crue at Jones Beach. I'm soooo excited. Is it normal for a 22-year-old to be tired and ready to crash at 9:00 every night?
